Auto Racing

The Coca Cola 600, NASCAR Nextel Cup's longest race of the year, is held at Lowe's Motor Speedway on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend each year.  The 600 is a huge race, and is one of Winston's No-Bull Five races, with five drivers (as well as five fans) chasing a million dollar prize.

The track also hosts The Winston the previous Saturday, as well as the UAW-GW Quality 500 in October.  A Busch series race is held the Saturday of each Nextel Cup weekend.

WEND's End of Summer Weenie Roast

A festival of modern rock held each September or early October, the weenie roast has featured such bands Everclear, Bush, Jewel, and others.  The Weenie Roast is held at Verizon Amphitheatre, about ten miles north of Charlotte.  Check 106.5.com for more information.

Continental Tire Bowl

The Continental Tire Bowl is held each December at Bank of America Stadium.  The game matches teams from the Big East and ACC.
