Chicagoland Speedway opens in Joliet, IL, during the summer of 2001.  The track is brand-new, and therefore only the grandstand facing the home stretch is complete.  The track currently seats 75,000.

Chicagoland Speedway hosts a NASCAR Busch and Nextel Cup race each July, as well as an IRL race Labor Day weekend.  See the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch schedules and the IRL schedule for dates.

Joliet is located about 30 miles southwest of Chicago.  The track is a few miles south of I-80, just east of 53.

Chicago Motor Speedway is located in Cicero, IL, about five miles west of downtown.  The track is the same facility as Sportsman's Park race track.

The track hosts a CART race each July, and a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race in August.  See the NASCAR Truck and CART schedules for dates.
