Chicago is a fantastic city, one of the nation's best for just about anything.  The town offers something for everyone, from its wide range of cultural activities, restaurants, and bars to its great sports tradition.

The Windy City is well-known as one of the nation's great sports towns.  Chicago boasts a team in each major league, plus an MLS team, a Big Ten school, a NASCAR race, and the Big Ten basketball tournament each year.

Like many large cities, Chicago can be a little pricey, but if you look around you'll find cheap drink specials and reasonably-priced food.

Although Chicago is a sprawling city, once you are downtown, you'll find it easy to get around.

Check out JOHNNY ON THE SPOT to see how others rate Chicago!!

FOOD

Chicago has some of the nation's finest restaurants; whatever type of food your looking for can be found.  Whether you go to a fine-dining establishment, or grab some bar food at a local watering hole, you will find the food in Chicago to be superb.

Check out the Restaurants and Bars page for the best offerings in the Windy City!

CHICAGO ATTRACTIONS

Chicago offers a lot for tourists.  The Sears Tower is the tallest building in North America, and its observation deck offers a tremendous view.  Grant Park, on the shores of Lake Michigan, is home to Buckingham Fountain, the Shedd Aquarium, and the Field Museum

Navy Pier, located just north of Grant Park, features an amusement park, as well as shopping and dining.  The Magnificent Mile, part of Michigan Avenue, is the center of the city's shopping district.

Chicago also offers plenty of options for horse racing and gambling fans.  Check our gambling page for more info.

NIGHTLIFE

Chicago's bars are plentiful and open late.  The nightlife scene in town rivals any other city in the country.  You can find standard beer halls, upscale blues bars, and anything else you're looking for.

The nightlife scene is centered around Rush and Division Streets and Lincoln Park.  There are also plenty of bars in Wrigleyville, the area around Wrigley Field.  Downtown has may offerings as well.

Check the Restaurants  and Bars page for more info.

TRANSPORTATION

Chicago is a pretty easy town to get around in by cab.  Chicago also has a elevated train that can you get you just about anywhere.

If you are renting a car, you will save money on the trip from the airport to downtown, but then you'll pay to park everywhere you go.  We recommend you not rent a car unless you are driving outside of town.

WEATHER

Chicago can get very hot, but is typically very nice in summer.  Winters are extremely cold, with the wind whipping off Lake Michigan.  Check the City Weather page for historical temperatures and precipitation.
