College
Park is home to the University of Maryland. It is located inside
the Washington Beltway, north of Washington, DC, and is accessible by
Metro. The town is 31 miles south of Baltimore.
The Terrapins compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference, a powerhouse
league in basketball, but not well-known for football outside of Florida
State and the occasional Clemson or Georgia Tech team. The Terps
basketball team is ranked every year, and has a long waiting list for
tickets; football tickets have been more in demand with the recent
success of the team, but are still not overly difficult to obtain.
College Park is a typical college town, with plenty of fast food
restaurants, bars that serve
up standard bar fare, and several national hotels.
