FedEx Field is located east of Washington, near Landover, Maryland.  The stadium was built in 1997 and seats 86,484, making it the largest stadium in the NFL.

FedEx Field was built entirely with private money by former Redskins owner Jack Kent Cooke.  The stadium is somewhat plain, lacking many bells and whistles found in publicly financed stadiums.  That being said, the club level areas are superb.

The traffic is absolutely horrendous getting to and from the stadium for Redskins games.  Plan to get there several hours early and sit in the car for several hours on the way home.  If you want to avoid the traffic, you can take the Metro.  Take the Orange Line to Cheverly or Landover, or the Blue Line to Addison Rd.  There are shuttle buses to the stadium from those stations, which costs $5 roundtrip.

Parking is mostly limited to season ticket holders.  If you arrive early enough, you can park in the stadium lots without a season pass.  If you're late or its sold out, there are satellite lots located east of the beltway, with shuttle service to the stadium.  Click here for a parking map.
