BALTIMORE ORIOLES BASEBALL TICKETS
Thirty miles down the road is Annapolis, Maryland's state capital, and home of the Naval Academy. Annapolis is an historic town on the waterfront, and makes for a good day trip if you're in Baltimore for an extended period of time. Washington, DC, is also located nearby, 35 miles down I-95. Check out JOHNNY ON THE SPOT to see how others rate Baltimore!! FOOD If you like seafood, you'll love the food in Baltimore. Steamed crabs and shrimp are available all over town, and no trip is complete without sampling a crab cake. If you're after Italian food, head for Little Italy a few blocks East of the Inner Harbor. Check out the Restaurants and Bars page for the best offerings in Charm City! BALTIMORE ATTRACTIONS
For a little sports history, check out the Babe Ruth Museum or Lacrosse Hall of Fame. If you want to play the ponies, head for Pimlico or Laurel; see our Horse Racing page for more information. NIGHTLIFE Baltimore's nightlife scene is centered in the neighborhoods of Federal Hill, Fells Point, and Canton. All are old city neighborhoods with bars crammed into old rowhouses. Federal Hill is located just south of the Inner Harbor, within a ten minute walk; it's a good place to be before or after a game. Fells Point and Canton are about two miles East of downtown; you'll want to take a cab or the Water Taxi to them if you aren't driving, but its well worth the fare. If you want to head uptown, try Charles Village, a few miles north of downtown, where there are several bars and restaurants. Check the Restaurants and Bars page for more info. TRANSPORTATION If you're staying downtown, Baltimore is an easy town to get around. The stadiums are within walking distance, as are many bars and restaurants. Cabs are easy to find, so Fells Point and Canton are only minutes away. There is also a water taxi that can take you from the Inner Harbor to Fells Point and Canton. BWI airport is less than ten miles from downtown, so that cab ride won't break you. If you are staying elsewhere, or playing golf, you will want to rent a car; although there is a light-rail system and a subway, they are both very limited. A roundtrip cab from downtown to a golf course will cost almost as much as a weekend car rental. WEATHER Baltimore is very humid in the summer, and while it can get cold in winter it won't get too bad. Check the City Weather page for historical temperatures and precipitation.
