BOSTON RED SOX BASEBALL TICKETS
Boston is a fairly expensive town once you're there. As for flights, Logan International Airport is located in the city, but the best bet for cheap airfares may be Manchester, NH, or Providence, RI, both just under an hour away with many Southwest flights. Check out JOHNNY ON THE SPOT to see how other sports fans rate Boston!! FOOD The seafood in Boston (and New England in general) is fantastic. Lobster, clam chowder and other seafood fare is available all over town, and is always local and fresh. Check out the Restaurants and Bars page for the best of Beantown! BOSTON ATTRACTIONS Boston is so old and has so much history that it is not hard to find something that interests you. The world's oldest commissioned warship, the USS Constitution, sits in the Charlestown Navy Yard. You can spend an entire afternoon at The Museum of Fine Arts, and still not see everything. The first family of Massachusetts is honored at the JFK Library. The New England Aquarium is located right downtown. Faneuil Hall Marketplace, located in the heart of downtown, features shops as well as bars and restaurants. If you want some thoroughbred racing, head for Suffolk Downs, home of the Massachusetts Handicap each June. NIGHTLIFE Boston's nightlife is centered around the bars near the city's college campuses, and downtown at Faneuil Hall and near the TD Banknorth Garden. Boylston Street is another popular area. The bars around Fenway Park are always busy, but on game days and for other events, every bar will be packed before and after the games. There are typical college bars all around town, but traditional Irish and American Pubs, as well as new wave clubs, are easily found as well. Check out the Restaurants and Bars page for more info. TRANSPORTATION Boston is currently digging up the entire downtown area in a ten-year project to build an underground interstate. This project has wreaked havoc on an already confusing driving landscape. If you don't know what you're doing, it is best not to even try driving around downtown. If you need to rent a car (you will need one to get to Foxboro), leave it at your hotel when you head to downtown Boston. Boston has a compact downtown area, and cabs are readily available. The city also has an excellent train system, with plenty of local stops downtown as well as trains that reach every suburb. WEATHER Boston gets a little muggy in summer, with temperatures reaching the 90's. The town gets very cold and snowy in winter. Check the City Weather page for historical temperatures and precipitation.
