Lowe's Motor Speedway is located about 15 miles northeast of Charlotte.  Home of the Coca Cola 600 and several other NASCAR events, the speedway has been in operation for about 40 years and is an integral part of the Nextel Cup series.

Formerly known as Charlotte Motor Speedway, Lowe's seats over 165,000 fans.  The speedway is unlike most on the NASCAR circuit in that it resembles a stadium as opposed to a collection of aluminum bleachers.

The NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch series both race at Lowe's.  The Coca Cola 600 and a Busch race are always held Memorial Day weekend, with the Winston held the previous Saturday night.  The fall stop is typically in October; see the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch schedules for dates.

Parking surrounds the speedway, and is generally around $5 for cars.
