I recently spent 3 months in Chicago for work, and I was blown away, now I'm considering transfering there permanently. Everything I ate there from 5 star restaurants to Chicago style dogs and pizza was delicious. The first few nights I went out (downtown) I thought Chicago night life was basically expensive and exclusive clubs or trendy martini lounges. However that was before I discovered the neighborhoods of Bucktown, Wickerpark, Lincoln Park, Lake view, Uptown, etc... I still can't believe how vibrant and diverse the night life out there is. Nearly everynight I ventured out I saw a different music act, blues, jazz, hip-hop, punk, dualing pianos, classical guitar, you name it I saw it. I also went to a Cubs game which was just amazing. oh yeah and there are street festivals full of beautiful women everywhere throughout Chicago's diverse neighborhoods. Some of the best museums in the world call Chicago home, the art museum is amazing. It is a fast paced no nonsense city, yet I found most people to be surprisingly friendly. Chicago has an amazingly vibrant and huge downtown, but it was all various neighborhoods that make great. From hood to hood there is unique architecture, different vibes, and ethnic enclaves(Vietnamese, Polish, Mexican, Egyptian, Morroccan, Chinese, Russian, Italian, Greek, Indian, Japanese, the world etc..). Did I mention how beautiful this city is? Aside from the breath taking architecture and the inland ocean. It's easy to see why Chicagoans take such pride in the beauty of their city. There are beaches and parks lining the entire coast. There are parks, gardens, fountains everywhere, and the city is so clean. My dream is to move there by next summer. I hope this isn't a pipe dream because I've spent way too long in our nation's capital. Chicago is my kind of town.
