TEXAS RANGERS BASEBALL TICKETS
America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys, plays outside of the downtown area at Irving's Texas Stadium. The Mavericks and Stars play downtown at the American Airlines Center, while A-Rod and the Rangers are just outside of town at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Major League Soccer's Dallas Burn play at the historic Cotton Bowl. Downtown Dallas is about equidistant from the two main airports. Dallas Love Field is about 10 miles and Dallas Ft. Worth International about 15 miles from downtown. Overall, Dallas is about average expense-wise. However, some of the bars are a bit expensive, depending on where you are. Check out JOHNNY ON THE SPOT to see how others rate Dallas!! FOOD We hear there are a couple good places to get steak around town. Along with the expected beef products, Dallas has a wide variety of great restaurants offering other fare. With four times as many restaurants per person than New York City, there's a lot to choose from. DALLAS ATTRACTIONS A walk through Dealey Plaza, the site of the assassination of John F. Kennedy, and a visit to the Sixth Floor Museum tops the lists of most tourists. There are plenty of great shopping destinations around; at Stockyards Station you can shop, dine, and watch a cattle drive every day of the year. NIGHTLIFE The best nightlife in and around Dallas is right downtown in Deep Ellum and the West End. Once you stray outside of downtown, you will find a lot of chain restaurants and not much else. The Lower Greenville and Lakewood area is a good place to go, and there are a few scant offerings in Irving and Arlington as well. Check the Restaurants and Bars page for more info. TRANSPORTATION The Dallas Ft. Worth area is so large that it is best to rent a car. You will find cabs to be very expensive, due to the distance of travel in most cases. Dallas doesn't have much in the way of public transportation to offset the cab issue either. WEATHER Summer temperatures in Dallas are very hot, but the winter months are great, with average temperatures in the 70s. Check the City Weather page for historical temperatures and precipitation. |
