West End Bars
& Restaurants
The West End is a very popular hangout just outside of downtown
Dallas. The shops, restaurants, and bars in Dallas Alley are
always crowded and there are also plenty of other choices around.
The area is within walking distance of the
American Airlines Center. There are also many
hotels in and near the West End.

Dick's Last Resort

Always
a fun place to go, even though its a chain restaurant.
Great burgers and other sandwiches, buckets of seafood and
32oz bottles of beer. If you haven't been to one,
don't be offended by the employees when they come off as a
little rude. Dick's also features live music
occasionally.

Gator's Croc & Roc

Gator's is a spacious bar with cafeteria
style tables, a wall of frozen drink machines, and live
piano entertainment every night starting at 9. On
Saturday nights, bands play on the outdoor patio.

The Dallas Alley is an outdoor courtyard with
several bars, including Have a Nice Day Cafe. There's
a stage at one end of the courtyard with live music during
the summer.

There's a large bar on the main floor and a
spacious dance club downstairs. There's a $10 cover
charge after 11, but the crowd doesn't file in until at
least midnight or so. The dress code is strict so
don't wait in line if you are wearing jeans, shorts, hats or
sandals.

Restaurants
Deep Ellum is a very popular area of the city, but
it is somewhat un-Dallas like. A great place to
go if you want to go out and have a good time, but not a place to
get a feel for the locals.

This spacious club generates a huge crowd and
loud music. Many big time bands have played this venue,
which features great views of the stage from anywhere in the
bar.

The Bone

The Bone has two bars. The downstairs is a typical bar
room, but upstairs is a patio bar with live music, a great
view, and room for dancing.

The Green Room

The Green Room is a great restaurant with
many different influences, along with a classy bar room.

July Alley

2809 Elm St.
The somewhat trendy scene in Deep Ellum has
not influenced July Alley at all. It is a typical bar
room, with low priced drinks and pool tables.
Its a great place to start of the night until the crowds
show up.

Lower
Greenville/Lakewood Bars
& Restaurants
The Lower Greenville neighborhood is a couple miles north of the
Cotton Bowl, and East of downtown Dallas.
Lakewood is just north of Lower Greenville. There are a lot of college bars and dance
clubs. Some of the bars don't allow sandals, jeans or hats.

Tipperary Inn is Dallas' only traditional
Irish Pub. Located in Lakewood, it offers a delicious Irish
menu, live music Wed - Sun, Trivia every Tuesday night and a
great atmosphere. Catch rugby, World Cup soccer and other
special events on the big screen TV.

The Red Jacket is the hot dance club in Lower
Greenville. The cover is usually only $3, but it can
be $15 or $20 when there are bands. The place is huge,
with several bars and different themes nightly.

The Beagle boasts a party atmosphere.
They have cheap drinks, big crowds, and loud music.

Royal Rack Reggae Club

A great place to play some pool, and DJ's
spin Reggae music almost nonstop. Bands play on the
weekends occasionally as well.

Muddy Waters has great blues bands nightly.
There's a small dance floor, but plenty of seating at tables
and booths.

There are a couple of good places not too far from
The Ballpark if
you are looking for a place to go after the game.

Western

Cowboy's has a stage at one end of the
building and tubs filled with ice and beer along the walls
with Cowgirls fishing out beers.

Manhattan's

Manhattan's has live music or a DJ Thursdays
through Saturdays. There's a free buffet on Fridays
for Happy Hour if you want get something to eat before a
Rangers game.

Irving/Texas
Stadium Bars & Restaurants
Tailgating is not permitted at
Texas Stadium, but there are a couple bars not too far away where you can grab something
to eat and have a few drinks.

The Top Rail opens at 11AM on Sundays.
There is a lot of dance floor space, but also pool tables and
TVs.

Its a chain restaurant, but they have a good
food selection. Its only about 2 miles from Texas
Stadium.

Consistently rated one of the top steak
houses in Dallas. At Pappas Bros. you can get a perfectly
cooked prime filet mignon, or if you're really hungry you
can get the 26 oz. porterhouse.
