The University of Houston Cougars compete in Conference USA in basketball and football.  The school is located a few miles south of downtown Houston.

The Cougars' basketball team was made famous in the early 1980's, as stars like Clyde Drexler and Akeem Olajuwon led Phi Slamma Jamma to three straight Final Fours.  Those glory days have not since been recaptured.

The hoops team plays at 8,479-seat Hofheinz Pavilion.  The arena is located on-campus and opened in 1969.

John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium, home of the Cougar football team, is adjacent to Hofheinz.  The stadium was renovated in 1999 and seats 32,000.  It opened in 1941.

Plenty of parking is available for both venues.
