Gainesville, Florida is home to about 95,000 permanent residents and the University of Florida.  The city is located 73 miles southwest of Jacksonville, 112 miles northwest of Orlando, and 130 miles north of Tampa.

Gainesville is a typical college town, although slightly larger than most.  There are several bars around the stadiums, and plenty of hotels in the area.

The Florida Gators play football at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Florida Field, better known as The Swamp.  The Florida basketball team plays at the neighboring O'Connell Center.
