UCLA boasts one of the nation's elite college athletic programs, and its facilities are in keeping with that excellence and the storied tradition of sports at the school. 

The Bruins are members of the Pac-10 conference in all sports.  The basketball team has won 11 national championships, most recently in 1995, and plays home games at Pauley Pavilion.  The arena, which was built in 1965 and seats 12,819, is located on-campus about 12 miles west of downtown Los Angeles.  The arena is a tough place for opposing teams to get a victory; the Bruins lost only two games there in the arena's first ten years of existence.

The storied arena has hosted many significant events in addition to Bruins hoops, such as the 1984 Olympic gymnastics and a historic ping pong match between the US and China.
