The USC Trojans are members of the Pacific-10 Conference in all
sports. The school is located in downtown Los Angeles, just north
of the Los Angeles Coliseum.
The Trojans football team plays home games at the Coliseum. The
historic stadium, which is listed in the National Register of Historic
Places, was built in 1923 and seats 92,000. The Coliseum
has hosted two Olympics (1932 and 1984), and was home to the Los Angeles
Rams from 1946 through 1979 and the Los Angeles Raiders from 1982
through 1994.
The Coliseum was renovated in 1993 at a cost of $15 million.
The renovation moved many seats closer to the field and reduced the
capacity of the stadium by nearly 10,000 seats.
The USC basketball team plays at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, next to the
Coliseum. The arena seats 16,161. The Sports Arena opened in
1959 and was home to the Lakers from 1960 through 1967 and the Clippers
from 1985 through 1999.
Some parking is available on the Coliseum and Sports Arena grounds.
There is also public parking in private lots nearby, including some at
the Convention Center and Staples Center two miles northeast.
