| Obviously the people who ripped apart Milwaukee are either too boring or dumb to locate some nice restaurants and nightclubs. I have lived in Milwaukee my entire life and I also have traveled to dozens of different cities in the USA. Granted, Milwaukee like all other rustbelt cities, has parts that are not real pretty, the selection of restaurants and nightlife is as good or better than ANY city I have visited. To the bozo who wrote there are only a few places to go and have fun, try going to Brady St, North Ave, or Milwaukee St. There are dozens of nice clubs with live music, dancing, etc. The city also has Summerfest, Harley Davidson, Miller Park, Miller Brewery, and an excellent arts community. The clowns who were crying about Milwaukee not being pretty must not have traveled to Cleveland, Chicago, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, etc. because all of these cities are similar.

| I was surprised with Milwaukee. Great town, great people. Especially enjoyed McGillycuddy's. The casino was real nice. Nice fans, but what would you expect-they have been losing forever. They were good loyal fans though. Good times. Would return.

| Relocated from MSP, and restaurants in Milwaukee are outstanding. Sanford, Lake Park Bistro, Coquette Cafe, Bacchus, and Karl Ratzsch's alone are better than any place I'd eaten at in 20 years in MSP. The pizza in this town is great, if you like thin crust, Pizza Man, Ann's, Balistreri's, etc. Sports are fun and affordable, great golf courses, Miller Park is way better than the Metrodome, and if you don't like NBA, go see Marquette (Big East) ball. Great fests, a million bars. The only negative I have is the inferiority complex of many. People should be proud of this city.

| I live in Milwaukee and I think it's terrible. I can't wait to leave. The person below that talked about how great Marquette's campus is has obviously never been there. It is known by everyone to be in one of the trashiest parts of town. I went there and students are robbed at gunpoint on a weekly basis. It seems like no matter where you go in Milwaukee, you are in the ghetto. There are abandoned buildings everywhere.
With regards to food, there are a few nice restaurants (joey buona's and bartolotta's for italian, a few nice thai restaurants too). Overall there are not many options though and it gets boring.
Nightlife is so-so. Water Street has about 10-15 bars in a row but they are all practically identical, it is basically like a frat party. Brady St. has some unique places and North Ave is another street to hit up. Trocadero is the real gem in milwaukee, it's like a french cafe downstairs and a really nice bar upstairs. The music, food, drinks, and workers are all amazing. The only problem is that it doesn't belong, because the rest of the city is a dump. Sports are a joke, the Brewers are one of the worst teams in professional sports. Bucks games are boring and the only other sports team is a minor league hockey team. Overall i would say if you are going to be stuck living in the midwest you would be much better off in chicago or minneapolis, milwaukee is going nowhere fast.
