Canterbury Park, located in Shakopee, 25 miles southwest of Minneapolis, features live thoroughbred racing from May through September.

Casino Gambling

Canterbury Park has a beautiful card club offering poker (Seven Card Stud, Texas Hold 'Em, and Omaha), plus Let It Ride, Caribbean Stud, Pai Gow Poker, and "Minnesota 21," which is code for blackjack.  There are no slot machines, so there is an eerie quiet to the room.

You must pay $0.50 to $1 per hand to play, but that cost is offset by bonus payments not found at other casinos.

Mystic Lake is one of the most popular casinos in Minnesota.  It offers slots and blackjack, but alcohol is not served in the casino.
