Second Avenue/Downtown Nashville Bars & Restaurants

There is only one place to be in Nashville, and that's on Second Avenue, right downtown on the Cumberland River.  The area offers just about anything you could ask for; live music, clubs, drinking holes, and everything else.  Head there for a party every night.

Second and Goal Sports Cafe

Sports/Sports/Sports

128 Second Ave North

2ndandgoal.jpg (36095 bytes)Its a sports bar, and a very good one at that.  There are numerous TVs, including a huge-screen in the third of the four rooms.  The back room is actually an outside patio overlooking the river.  The food is typical for a sports bar, and is very good and affordable.

Mulligan's Irish Pub and Restaurant

Irish

117 Second Ave North

mulligans.jpg (34000 bytes)You wouldn't expect to find an Irish bar in Nashville, but Mulligan's would be a great one anywhere.  Hear live Irish music, and throw some darts in the back room while you sip on a Guinness.  They serve up very good food as well.

Wildhorse Saloon

Live Country Music

120 Second Avenue North

The Wildhorse has a huge stage and features live music every night.  It is more of a concert hall than a bar, with wide open areas and a dance floor.  There is a cover charge in the evenings.

Big River Grill and Brewing Works

Brewery

111 Broadway

bigriver.jpg (27013 bytes)The beer is fantastic, and the food is very good too (although slightly expensive).  There are TVs at the bar to catch whatever game might be on.

Hooter's

Sports

184 Second Ave North

There isn't much to say about Hooter's.  If you have to ask, don't bother.

Beer Sellar

Beer

101 Church Street

They sell beer, hence the name; Beer Sellar.  They have tons of beer, over a hundred types including over 50 on tap.

Buffalo Billiards

Pool Hall/Cigar Lounge

154 Second Avenue North

A huge billiards parlor that gets very crowded at night.  There is a large bar in the middle of the room, and in addition to pool tables there are many dart boards for your entertainment.

Havana Lounge

Martini/Cigar Lounge

154 Second Avenue North

If you want to have a few drinks in a classy lounge, head upstairs to the Havana.  They do not open until 4pm, but its a good late-night hangout.

Bar Nashville

Club

114 Second Ave South

bar.jpg (29573 bytes)Bar Nashville is always crowded and is always a party.  There is usually a short wait to get in, and there is a cover charge.

Hard Rock Cafe

American

100 Broadway

hardrock.jpg (28436 bytes)Everyone knows the Hard Rock, and this one is no different than the others.  Good food and beer, but kind of expensive.

Banana Joe's

DJ/Live Music

166 Second Avenue North

Banana Joe's is a college atmosphere hangout, with a DJ playing dance music and live music in back.  The front room is a large island-like bar.

NASCAR Cafe

American

305 Broadway

nascar.jpg (30666 bytes)NASCAR Cafe is similar to Hard Rock or ESPNZone, except everything is NASCAR.  There is a lot of interesting NASCAR memorabilia, and the food is good if slightly expensive.

Vanderbilt University Bars & Restaurants

There are several bars and restaurants around Vanderbilt to go to before or after the game.

Ireland's

Irish/Live Music

204 21st Avenue South

Ireland's has a great atmosphere to hang out and enjoy some live music.  It is very close to Vanderbilt.

Broadway Brewhouse

Beer/Cajun

1900 Broadway

With over 400 beers, including 70 on tap, we're pretty sure you can find a beer to your liking at the Broadway Brewhouse.  They also sever up excellent, very affordable cajun food.

Opryland/Opry Mills Bars & Restaurants

If you head over to Opryland, there is only one place to go before or after the Grand Ole Opry...

Jillian's

Sports/Arcade

540 Opry Mills Drive

jillianssports.jpg (23372 bytes)Jillian's is a huge entertainment complex, featuring several bars, a billiard room, an arcade, a sports bar, and a bowling alley.  You could stay inside for days and not get bored.  Its definitely worth the trip.
