Acme Oyster House gets very high marks
for its raw oysters ($6.95/doz), jambalaya, and other
entrees ($7-$15). There is usually a wait outside, but

sandwiches under $10) and hear live music. It is a
nice place that looks and feels more expensive than it
is. Try their hurricane and hear some great jazz.

liquor. There are three of them on Bourbon Street, so
they're hard to miss. They serve pizza and similar

encompasses Tulane University. It is a good alternative to
the French Quarter if you want a change of pace, particularly
during Mardi Gras, when parades run up and down St. Charles
Avenue.

gamble, and the food is good and reasonably priced.

well worth it. Try their famous hamburger, or get a
world-class omelet. If you're staying downtown,
Camellia's is a good place to go for breakfast before you
head to the airport; its on the way if you head out St.
Charles Ave.
