Rutgers is located in New Brunswick, NJ, 36 miles down the New Jersey Turnpike from New York City.  Both the football and basketball teams play in campus and compete in the Big East Conference.

The basketball team plays at the Louis Brown Athletic Center (or "RAC" as the building was originally known).  The RAC was built in 1979, and seats about 8,500.

Scarlet Knights football is played at Rutgers Stadium, which was built in 1994 and seats 41,500.  The stadium also hosts NCAA lacrosse when played in New Brunswick.

Parking for football must be purchased in advance for the best lots; game-day parking is available only in the lots surrounding the RAC.

Tailgating is allowed; lots open three hours prior to kickoff.  However, no kegs or party balls are permitted.
