Giants Stadium is a great place to tailgate.  The parking lot is huge and relatively inexpensive, particularly for the New York area.  The lot opens four and one-half hours prior to game time.

Tailgaters at Yankee StadiumFor New York Yankees games at Yankee Stadium, tailgating is permitted in the lots surrounding the stadium.  There are also a few sports bars nearby that are packed before and during games.

Shea Stadium is a bit isolated, so any pre-game activities will need to occur on the stadium lots.  Be careful if you choose to drink outside; New York's finest have been known to slap heavy fines on beer drinkers at Shea.

For both Mets and Yankees games, the ferry is a great way to get to the game.  The Yankee Clipper and Shea Express both leave from Hoboken and make their way around Manhattan on the way to the stadium.  Click here for more information.

For events at Madison Square Garden, head for one of the many bars around the arena.
