The Alamodome opened in 1993, and is located in downtown San Antonio.  The Alamodome seats 65,000 for football, and can seat over 40,000 for basketball.

The NBA's San Antonio Spurs played at the Alamodome from 1993 until 2002, when the AT&T Center opened.  While no team currently calls the 'Dome its permanent home, it is a frequent host to the NCAA men's basketball tournament, the Final Four, and has also hosted the Big 12 football championship game.  The Alamodome hosts the Alamo Bowl each December, and also houses the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame.

The Alamodome will host the NCAA Men's Final Four April 3-5, 2004, and will host it again in 2008.

The Alamodome has several parking lots on the premises, and thousands more spots are available in the downtown San Antonio area. 

River Walk is less than a ten-minute walk from the Dome, as are many downtown hotels.
