The Stanford Cardinal (named for the color, not the bird) compete in the Pac-10 conference in all sports.  The campus is located in Stanford, just south of Palo Alto, 31 miles southeast of San Francisco and 15 miles west of San Jose.

The Stanford football team plays at Stanford Stadium.  The stadium was built in 1921 and seats a whopping 85,500.  It hosted Super Bowl XIX in 1985.

Maples Pavilion is home to the Stanford basketball team.  Maples opened in 1969 and seats 7,613.  The arena is very cozy and gets very loud during big hoops battles.

The highly successful Stanford baseball team plays at Sunken Diamond, next to Stanford Stadium.  There is fixed seating for 2,113.

All three venues are located on-campus in the same area (see map).  Parking surrounds the stadiums, and tailgating is encouraged for football games.

There is a Caltrain station located across from Stanford Stadium if you don't want to drive to the game.

There are several restaurants and bars a few blocks from the stadium.
