Laclede's Landing Bars & Restaurants

The Landing has the best bar scene in the city.  It is on the hill overlooking the Mississippi and the riverboat gambling casinos.  The Landing is about 5 blocks deep; if you walk in the front door of a bar, downstairs and out the back door is another block with more bars.

Banana Joe's

Tropical/Dance

118 E. Morgan St.

Banana Joe's is a popular dance club with a tropical flavor to it.  Three bar areas surround the large dance floor, and outside on the patio is another bar and live music is often featured.

Mississippi Nights

Live Music

914 N. First St.

Consistently listed as the Best of St. Louis, Mississippi Nights is a bar/concert hall featuring rising acts, with occasional appearances by well known national bands and performers.

Show Me's

American

724 N. First St.

Show Me's is basically Hooter's, although maybe not quite as good.  The food is fantastic; great chicken wings and burgers dominate the menu.  There are plenty of seats, TVs and bar space, and the waitresses show you as much as they can in a family restaurant.

Morgan Street Brewery

Brew Pub

721 N. Second St.

Morgan St. is a large pub that attracts plenty of business.  You will wonder how a place so big can get crowded, but its packed on the weekend nights.  Even with big crowds the service is usually very good.  Great music, and full of people having a good time.

Bar St. Louis

Club

612 N. Second St.

Bar St. Louis is a good place to go for early drink specials, but the bar doesn't start filling up until around 11.  Top Forty hits past and present are played all night.  Female patrons are welcome to climb up on the bar and dance for a free shot or two.

Trainwreck

American

720 N. First St.

There are three Trainwreck locations in St. Louis; one in midtown, one Northwest of the city in Maryland Heights, and the Landing location here.  Trainwreck on the Landing features live music on the weekends and 24 draught beers.

Downtown Bars & Restaurants

There are plenty of great places to go before or after a Cardinals game that are just a short walk from Busch Stadium.

Mike Shannon's

Steakhouse/Sports Bar

100 N. Seventh St.

If you are looking for a place to have a good steak, Mike Shannon's is consistently rated the best place in the city.  After Cardinals games on Friday's and Saturday's, a radio show is broadcast from the restaurant with players and coaches from home and away teams there for interviews and terrific food.

Anthony's

Sports Bar

10 S. Broadway

Located in the lobby of the Equitable Building, Anthony's attracts a lot of corporate business during the week, but on weekends and game days, the place fills up with a more laid back clientele.    There's a great view of downtown from the bar as well.

Jack Patrick's

Sports Bar

1000 Olive St.

Jack Patrick's is a typical sports bar with plenty to keep you occupied even if there aren't any games going on.  In addition to good bar fare, and friendly service, there are pool tables, shuffleboard, foosball and arcade games.

The Summit

Sinatra

200 N. Broadway

The Summit is a shrine to Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack.  The TVs play Sinatra concert videos, the music is either Sinatra on the jukebox or a live band playing Sinatra songs all night.

Union Station/Scottrade Center Bars & Restaurants

Just outside of the downtown area, there are a few good places to check out around Union Station and the Scotttrade Center.

The Arena Club

Sports Bar

315 S. Fifteenth St.

The Arena Club is named for the former home of the St. Louis Blues.  There is an authentic scoreboard hanging from the ceiling and a great draught beer selection.  A must for pre-gaming for a hockey game.

Hooter's

American

301 St. Louis Union Station

Hooter's is pretty familiar to many sports fans, and this one is no different than the others.  Excellent wings, good but greasy food, and plenty of beer, among other highlights.

Key West Cafe

Tropical

1820 Market St.

The name says it all; the decor is dedicated to Earnest Hemmingway and Jimmy Buffet.  There is a large selection of frozen drinks and margaritas.
