The George Washington Colonials are members of the Atlantic 10 conference in men's basketball.  The school does not field a football team.

The team plays at the Charles E. Smith Center in downtown Washington, a few blocks north of the Lincoln Memorial.  The arena was built in 1978 and seats 5,000.
