There is nothing to do around FedEx Field or RFK Stadium except tailgate, so if you want any kind of pregame activity, you'd better show up at the parking lot with a cooler and a grill.  Alternatively, there is a bandstand outside of FedEx with vendors selling beer before games; the 'Skins cheerleaders make an appearance as well.

We recommend getting to FedEx Field very, very, early because traffic is terrible for Redskins games.  If you don't have a parking pass and the lot is sold out, you'll have to park east of the beltway near the site of the old USAirways Arena; there is shuttle service to FedEx Field from the lots in that area.  See our Fed Ex Field Map for details.

For games and concerts at RFK, there are grass parking lots near the river that make for great tailgating.  

For University of Maryland football, there is plenty of tailgating in the lots surrounding Byrd Stadium.  For basketball, head for the bars on Baltimore Avenue.  Parking is free for both sports.

No matter where your game is, you need to get your alcoholic beverages on Saturday.  Some grocery stores sell beer.
