The University of Maryland is located in College Park, northeast of downtown just inside the Capital Beltway. To drive there, take the Route 1 (Baltimore Avenue) exit south off the beltway (95/495) (see map).

The Terrapins opened a new basketball arena for the 2002 season. Venerable Cole Field House has been replaced by the Comcast Center, a beautiful facility seating over 17,000. Maryland football is played at Byrd Stadium, which seats 48,055.

Comcast and Byrd are both located on campus.

Parking is free and plentiful around both stadiums. Tailgating is allowed on all lots, and College Park has numerous bars in which to enjoy some pre game beverages.
