Army/Navy - Not Your Average Rivalry

The Army/Navy game is the most important game of the year to the two academies involved, and the only important game of the year to millions of Americans. Although Army and Navy rarely contend even for a bowl bid, the game achieves a level of intensity not seen in any other college football game.

The game has been held in Philadelphia throughout most of its 100+ years of existence; Philly will host it again in 2008 and 2009. Baltimore hosted the game in 2000 and will host in 2007, and East Rutherford has been the site several times in recent years.

The Brigade of Midshipmen marches onto the field

The Corps of Cadets marches onto the field

Several hours prior to the game, the Corps of Cadets and the Brigade of Midshipmen each march onto the field. Fans come into the stadium to witness this tradition, and are allowed to leave and re-enter the stadium afterwards. The stadium is completely filled at kickoff; no one gets in late.

Army/Navy Tickets

Army/Navy tickets are generally very difficult to obtain unless you are a season-ticket holder or booster of one of the academies. A limited number of seats are made available to the general public.
