With national powers like Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma, the Big 12 tournament always features great weekend matchups.  The tournament brings all 12 teams together, and produces some good quarterfinal matchups and heated battles in the semifinals and final.

The top four finishers in the Big 12 receive a first-round bye in the tournament.  The other eight teams meet on Thursday in a pair of doubleheaders beginning at 11:30 am and 6 pm.  Thursday's winners advance to the quarterfinals on Friday to take on the top four teams, also beginning at 11:30 am and 6 pm.

The quarterfinal winners meet in Saturday's semifinals beginning at 1 pm.  On Sunday, the semifinal winners meet at 2 pm to decide the championship.

Big 12 Tournament Tickets

The Big 12 tournament usually sells out well in advance.  Each of the 12 schools receives over 1000 tickets, which doesn't leave many left over for the general public.  For the 2006 tournament, a limited number of tickets were made available.  Face value for the a ticket booklet to all sessions of the 2006 tournament was $210 and $300.

Since you probably won't have tickets in advance, you'll be buying on the street.  Big 12 fans travel very well, so demand is high.  We recommend buying tickets as soon as you find a price you are comfortable paying.  To increase your chances, try to find fans of losing teams who look as if they're headed home; many will be trying to unload their tickets.
