Conference USA is a relatively new basketball league, having been founded in 1995.  The league has grown since its inception, and now has 14 members, with most located in large cities in the middle of the country.

The league's hoops tournament has proven to be wide open, with several teams claiming at least one tournament championship.  The top twelve teams in the league participate, with the two division winners and the two teams with the next-best records, regardless of division, receiving a bye.  The next seven teams are seeded according to record, without regard to division finish.

The first round matchups are held on Wednesday in two doubleheaders, tipping off at 12 pm and 6 pm.  The quarterfinals are held Thursday and also tip off at 12 and 6.  Friday's semifinal doubleheader begins at 3:15 pm, with the winners meeting in Saturday's championship at 10:35 am.

Conference-USA tournament tickets cannot be purchased through the conference until the Monday prior to the tournament, when they are available at the host arena's box office.  Prior to that date, you must contact one of the member schools at the following numbers:

Advance tickets to the tournament are sold in booklets.  Single-session tickets are available at the box office beginning on the Monday prior to the tournament.

Conference USA Tournament Travel Information

With the departure of schools like Cincinnati, Marquette, and Louisville to the Big East, Conference-USA's glory days as a basketball conference are over.  As a result, the tournament will not be the draw that it once was.  Click here for Memphis hotels.
