The SEC Championship Game is the oldest of the major conference title games, with the game dating back to 1992, when Alabama defeated Florida 28-21 and went on to win the national championship a month later in the Sugar Bowl.  The game has produced two other national champs since that time.

The first two title games were held at Legion Field in Birmingham.  In 1994, the game moved to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, and it has been held there ever since.  The Dome will continue to host the game until at least 2005.

SEC Championship Game Tickets

The Georgia Dome has a listed capacity of 71,228, however, the attendance for every single title tilt held at the Dome has exceeded this capacity.  The game is always sold out, and there is no public sale for tickets to the game.  Past ticket holders are given first opportunity to purchase tickets, and there is a waiting list for others if any tickets remain.

Future SEC Championship Game Dates

The SEC Championship Game is always held in early December.  The game will be held at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta through at least 2005 (and most likely beyond).
