Atlanta or Phoenix or Houston. There is little here that could be described as unique to Atlanta or even interesting. The city itself is a souless ghost town at night with little to offer in the way of good food or a decent night life. I was forced to dine in the suburb each night, which was actually very good. Braves fans are unenthusiastic, disinterested, and un-informed.

Actually, sync130, Atlanta is not the "Empire State of the South." That would be Georgia, and it has nothing to do with NYC. Anyway, ATL is a hoppin place, but, not the safest. There is plenty to do here.

I promise you that this city is the worlds worst place. These Georgians think that Atlanta is the best, All Alanta is , is nothing else but a buch of New York City Lovers. That's why Atlanta's nickname is "The Empire State of the South."

"Welcome to Atlanta where the players play and the parties don't stop 'til 8 in the morning" - That's and understatment! The Georgian Terrace - a really cool hotel with a lot of history. Mitra, Twist, Fogo da Chao, Noodle, and Roasters are my picks for dining although Blue Point is good but expensive - Emerils is HORRIBLE!! Buckhead party scene is good but find a local and get into the midtown scene and you'll need at least 3 days to recoup.

atlanta is ok i guess...it has alot of history with the civil war and everythign has a nice southern charm. the weather isnt great and the peopel are kind of slow paced and some are slow in the head as well. but if your going there for sports...dont bother. all atlanta sports teams arent worth paying to see. the braves are usually a decent team but they can never sell out the damn stadium...half empty stadiums are just depressing...and the rest of atlanta's teams cant seem to win. also if its a day game...watch out. atlanta is hot as hell.

i went to atl the same time i visited charlotte nc. my sister decided to take me down there and boy was i in for a treat. nice downtown. visit the coca-cola museum and underground atlanta. we stayed in a nice hotel in the heart of the downtown area. even though it was freezing i still had an excellent time, didn't want to leave.

First and foremeost, the weather in atlanta is disgusting. You think you know, but you have no idea. It factors into everything you do, and even inside your hotel, you can't escape the humidity. Beyond that, food is good, although they claim cajun, ect. to be there own, which it is not. Nothing unique, except the varsity, near tech. a must see. Bars suck unless your a famous rapper, but buckhead makes up for it. Great hotels, sky's the limit, except none are near buckhead bars, or even centennial park. Atlanta has some of the worst sports fans, and with the thrash and hawks, i don't blame them. Vick and the braves redeem them, although the stadiums are slightly above average. Overall, it's too far away to drive to from most points, and tha make the road trip not worth it.

Georgia Dome has limited tailgating activity of the dege of the downtown. Atlanat fans act like they haven't ben there (maybe because they haven't!). Food is all artery clogging BBQ. Zero decent seafood. Grimy hotels downtown and suburban.

tha atl is great its real clean tha foods alright and tha hotels are nice tha communitys are nice i stayed in college park and sothwest atlanta tha ghetto but tha ghetto is a nice ghetto and the fans are freat evry one loves tha dirty birds the nightlife is great club 112 and fuel are off tha chainoverall the city is alright

pretty good town. buckhead is fun. georgia dome is awful though. the hotels are not entirely convenient to many bars, but they were ok. nothing spectacular in the way of food at all. the best thing is the BEARS killed the falcons. overall an average town.

Very much a sports town. Really more of a college football town than anything else. Proximity to several major colleges make it very attractive during the fall. Turner Field is one of the better baseball parks.

Hot-lanta is great place to catch a Braves game. The field is pretty unique in the behind the bleachers there are batting cages, video games, everkind of food imaginable. I sat in outfield bleachers and considered it a decent seat.
In Buckhead and other areas there are great restaurants, some very expensive and others not so much - ask locals for details - all are there. There are also alot of real nice shops for the wife in the Buckhead Area. There are alot of very modern office buildings, etc. in Buckhead, but at night it turns into a very cool night scene with something for everything and everyone.
I recommend Summerfield Suites in Buckhead if you can get the corporate/AAA rate of $100/night.
