Watkins Glen International is one of only two road courses on the NASCAR circuit.  The track is an 11-turn, 2.45 mile road course, with two stretches of 2,150 and 2,600 feet. 

Watkins Glen is located in New York's Finger Lakes region.  The Glen's capacity is roughly 40,000, with bleachers located at various points along the track.

The NASCAR Nextel Cup makes one stop at the Glen, typically in August.  The track hosted its first NASCAR race in 1957, and has held a race each year since 1986. See the NASCAR Nextel Cup schedule for the race date.

The closest towns with meaningful numbers of hotels are Elmira, 25 miles south, and Ithaca 30 miles northeast.

Coolers are permitted in the grandstand, but must be soft-sided and no larger than 6x6x12 inches.  Each fan may bring one cooler or bag meeting those specifications.  Each fan may also bring a clear bag no larger than 18x18x4.  Binoculars, scanners, cameras, and the like may be carried around the neck.
