Shrimp Creole is a great addition to a
Cajun tailgate, or any other tailgate for that matter.
There are a lot of ingredients, but its not overly difficult to
make. The result is a spicy concoction that will leave
tailgaters asking for more.

Ingredients:
2
pounds shrimp, peeled
3 cups
tomato paste
2
tablespoons butter
Olive
oil
2
onions, chopped
2
cloves garlic, minced
1
green pepper, red pepper and yellow pepper, chopped
1 bay
leaf
1
tablespoon parsley
2
tablespoons brown or white sugar
1/2
cup chili sauce
1
tablespoon cayenne pepper
2
tablespoons chopped dried chipolte peppers
Salt,
pepper, thyme, crushed red peppers, hot sauce, chili powder
Lots
of Old Bay
Steps:
Melt 2
tablespoons butter and 3 tablespoons olive oil in large frying
pan
Add
onions, garlic, and shrimp and cover in Old Bay
Simmer
until shrimp is fully cooked
Add
tomatoes, peppers, 1 bay leaf, 1 tablespoon parsley, 2
tablespoons brown or white sugar, 1/2 cup chili sauce, 1
tablespoon cayenne pepper, 2 tablespoons chopped dried chipolte
peppers.
Add
salt, pepper, Old Bay, thyme, crushed red peppers, hot sauce,
and chili powder to taste
Simmer
over low heat until sauce is thick, about 50 minutes to an hour,
stirring occasionally, or pour into crock pot and set to high
for 45 minutes, then low for 20-30 minutes
