Looking for ways to spice up your tailgate?  Try coming up with a theme for the event.  If possible, choose the theme based on the opponent (Southern for Atlanta or Carolina, Cajun against New Orleans or LSU, Italian against the Jets). 

Here are some theme ideas and the recipes that go with them:

• Traditional tailgate: Brats, burgers, chicken breast, baked beans
   
• BBQ tailgate: BBQ chicken, ribs, BBQ pork sandwiches, beef BBQ, baked beans
   
• Cajun tailgate: Jambalaya, shrimp Creole, gumbo, blackened catfish, cornbread
   
• Breakfast tailgate: Scrambled eggs/omelets, home fries, French toast, biscuits & gravy or cream chipped beef, sausage & bacon, Scotch eggs, bloody Mary balls
   
• Italian tailgate: Meatball subs, Italian sausage, lasagna, Italian beef
   
• Pulled Meat tailgate: Pulled pork, pulled chicken, beef barbecue, Italian beef
   
• Tubular Meat tailgate: Brats, Italian sausage, Bacon Burger Dogs, kielbasa, hot dogs
   
• Southern tailgate: Pulled pork, Frogmore stew, hushpuppies
   
• Seafood tailgate:  Maryland crab dip, shrimp on the engine, shrimp kabobs, blackened catfish
